PUTTING YOUR HEALTH FIRST!
Garners Pharmacy Ltd. has a long tradition of service to the residents of the local area. We offer an increasing range of services and facilities for the benefit of you and your family.
Dispensing
A pharmacist is available to dispense both NHS and private prescriptions. Our pharmacist will also be able to advise you on how to take your medicines and if there are any special precautions you should take.
Patient Medication Records
When we dispense your prescription we keep a record of the items dispensed. When you next bring your prescription here our records help the pharmacist decide whether the medicine is safe for you to take.
The pharmacist can also use your records to give you advice when purchasing over the counter remedies.
Prescription Collection & Delivery Service
If you have a regular repeat prescription we can collect your prescription from the surgery, dispense it and have it delivered out to you the next working day. Please telephone us in good time, letting us know when the prescription will be ready. You will then be informed of the approximate time of delivery, or you can collect your prescription from the pharmacy.
Emergencies
If you require a prescription medicine which has been previously prescribed by your doctor, and you cannot see your doctor, then we may be able to help. However, we can only do this in cases of genuine emergency and we will have to charge the full price of the medicines dispensed. This service is not available on the NHS.
Confidentiality
Everything you talk to the pharmacist (or any of the staff) about is treated in the strictest confidence. We will only contact your GP or your family with your specific consent. If you would like to talk in a more private area than the open shop please ask, and you will be taken to the private consultation room.
Medication Usage Review
You may be invited to attend a medication usage review, in this the pharmacist will discuss your medication with you and check your understanding of how it works. If, at the end of the review the pharmacist has any recommendations that could help you these will be pointed out to you and also sent to your GP.
Substance Misuse Service & Needle Exchange
If you, or somebody you know, needs to use either of these services please ask to speak to the pharmacist. You should expect to be dealt with quickly and courteously and in return we ask for your patience and understanding that groups of people can be disturbing to other customers and to staff.
